Sir Isaac Newton’s first law states that if a body is at rest or moving at a constant speed in a straight line, it will remain at rest or keep moving at a constant speed in a straight line unless it is acted upon by a force.

This theory is known as the law of inertia.

This theory applies to the physical world (the reason we have seatbelts) as well as the psychological world (why we repeatedly eat at the same restaurants). With that said...
