Saying yes to one thing often means, at least for a moment, saying no to another. 

To work hard, to stay late, to put in the extra hours to become better, smarter, more competent, means having less hours for your health or seeing your family and friends.

To spending more time socializing with family and friends deepens your relationships, but means having less focus on your work or training. 

None of the trade offs are inherently bad. They’re just decisions at certain point in your life.
