"New year, same 'ol you..." 🏁 On Any Sundays

"Don’t live the same year 75 times and call it a life."

- Robin Sharma

Do you know where last year’s resolution list is?

Want to ditch the same ol “New Year New Me” wishlist (that usually gets ditched in a few weeks anyway)?

Great.

Grab a pen and a sheet of paper.

Draw a straight horizontal line from one end of the page to the other. This is the timeline of your life.

On the left end of the line is the day you were born.

On the right end is you, today, right now.

Starting from the left, make a quick little vertical line up for all of your “favorite” moments in your life, and a little vertical line down for the “not-so-favorite” moments. If the moment was exceptionally good/not-good, make the line a little longer.

All done?

Well, take a look.

Like what you see?

Notice the top 3 lines going up and top 3 going down.

What led to these moments of your life?

Notice any patterns?

Is there anything you can do to set yourself up for more “good” spikes this year?

Anything you can do to avoid any repeating “bad” spikes?

The lines you see on your page are yours.

We don’t get much of a say on how our stories begin, but we do get a vote on what happens next.

This year we encourage you, we ask you, we respectfully-yet-aggressively push you to make your story one you’re proud to tell.

To make this timeline of yours one you’re excited to update.

Whatever you need to overcome to do so, maybe that’s all that needs to be your “To Do” list this year?

PS. If you’re open to it, write back to this email and let us know that roadblock is for you. Not sure what we could do to help, but the least we can do is support you through it.

This is brilliant! I’m going to suggest this to my clients I’m working with on vision.

Thank you so much for teaching us this technique.
